Mark Wentworth and the valspar love your colour guarantee

Mark Wentworth is a Global Colour Ambassador who has been learning about and working with colour for over 30 years.

This year, Valspar partnered up with Mark to help bring Valspar’s new Love Your Colour Guarantee to life, by helping people get a deeper understanding about the colours they love and why.

In March 2019, Mark was Valspar’s ‘Director of Colour’ at the Institute of Primal Colour event, where he analysed the chromatic profile cards of each guest, identifying which shade of Valspar worked best for them. A number of experiments were undertaken at the Institute of Primal Colour event, one of which tested people’s perception of body temperature in rooms that were painted three different colours. It found that when in the Olive Green room, participants felt on average 2-3 degrees warmer that the room actually was. This helped us determine that if people were to choose to paint their home in a shade such as Valspar’s Manzanilla Olive, they could potentially save up to £270 a year on energy bills by not having to turn up the thermostat!
